Mentally, I'm Here

Hi there! My name is Alina and I’m a columnist for Shifter Magazine. I’m currently a third-ish-year psychology student at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Welcome to Mentally, I’m Here, where I will teach you all about mental illness and mental health in a general, easy-to-digest way. I will also be here to teach you how to provide support to your loved ones who may be struggling, tips on how to make your everyday language more inclusive and less triggering and answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.

I have been interested in psychology and advocating for mental health since I was in high school. I took AP Psychology in tenth grade and decided then and there that psychology was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. With that being said, it is extremely important to remember that I am not a professional. I’m still in school and working on my degree. This blog is primarily for convenient, educational purposes. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out and seek a professional.
