Mindy Kaling to Open Book Studio in Late 2022

Actor, screenwriter, producer and New York Times best-selling author Mindy Kaling has announced the launch of Mindy’s Book Studio. Amazon Publishing, Amazon Studios and Kaling stated that they will be debuting a “boutique story studio that will publish books selected by Kaling from emerging and established diverse voices.”

Mindy’s Book Studio, which will be starting in late 2022, is an imprint that will highlight "fresh, vibrant, and binge-worthy reads." They will feature a variety of genres including but not limited to romantic comedies, suspenseful dramas and coming-of-age stories.

Amazon Studios aims to adapt future published works from Mindy’s Book Studio into films that will stream on Prime Video. She'll also have the first pick when it comes to developing these titles. Kaling’s hope is that Mindy’s Book Studio expands storytelling with memorable and must-read stories that all audiences can access.

Amazon Publishing looks forward to publishing Kaling’s debut novel, and collection of personal essays within the next two years. They’ve already worked alongside her with previous projects such as her best-selling essay collection Nothing Like I Imagined (Except for Sometimes) which was made available free to Prime members under Amazon Original Stories.
